What is this game about?
The mancala board consists of 5 holes on either side and a pot at the end. You click on holes to move small rocks between holes or empty the hole into the pot. You need to move the small rocks around the board and capture more than your opponent to win.
How do I control the game?
You use the mouse or touchpad on your laptop to click. There are no keyboard controls for this game.
How do I play?
There are three types of moves in Mancala. The first is generally moving rocks from a hole. The second is ending that move in the pot and the third is ending that move to win an opponent's rocks from one of their holes.
When should I just move rocks between holes?
When you are setting up for a bigger move such as ending in your pot or winning the contents of the opponent's hole.
How do I end a move in the pot?
The last rock in your move will end up in the pot and stay there. This gives you an extra turn and that is very valuable.
How do I capture an opponent's rocks?
Grab their rocks by ending your move with a single rock in an empty hole, opposite a hole of their with rocks in. Both your single rock and all of the contents of their hole, will fly into your pot.
Gameplay tips:
1) Get used to the game: Not many people know the rules to Mancala so have a few practice rounds to get used to the game play;
2) Two special moves: Use the two special moves – ending in your pot, and capturing opponent's rocks – to get ahead of your opponent.
